The case for the small intimate Wedding
In Nigeria, having a small intimate Wedding has never been the norm regardless of the couple’s social status. Weddings with almost a 100 guests is considered a small wedding, having 300 guests is assumed a normal sized wedding but some guests attendance can be as high as 1000.
Then came Covid-19 and the necessity to cancel mass gatherings including Weddings. The mandated number of individuals for a wedding was initially 20 then was increased to 50 individuals. Some couples out rightly cancelled going ahead with their wedding ceremonies because they really wanted to have their big day as originally planned, while some opted for having a small one in accordance with the health guidelines and the government mandate. Thus the need for a small wedding which isn't at all a bad idea.
Here's my case for the small intimate Wedding, with all
it's wonderous
benefits:
1) Intimate weddings are in and are less stressful. Trust me a reduced guest list would be reduced stress too and would also give you more flexibility when it comes to planning and coordinating.
2) Resources meant for a big wedding can be reallocated. Money saved can be splurged on a destination honeymoon, a down payment on a house or other investments.
3) More opportunity to mingle with your guests. You would not have to wait till you see the wedding pictures or videos to know who was present, with a small wedding you can get to know who is present, interact and spend time with them and make them feel welcome.

Where choosing small and intimate makes for a very unique and memorable special day for both you and your guests leaving a very lasting impression.
4) A little more leeway to spurge. With a small guest list you can still have a top notch event and still have extra to save unlike having a larger crowd and spreading your finances thin.
5) More flexible venue options. Your venue options can range from the living room to restaurants to private gardens or the beach front… all locations a small wedding can give you.
